January’s POPP Power Days Make an Impact on Tri‑Cities’ Pet Overpopulation

February 2, 2026 By Grace Clark

January’s POPP Power Days – a Two Day Event Where Capacity Doubles– at the POPP Spay and Neuter Clinic Helped Support Lowering Pet Overpopulation in the Tri-Cities

Two days a month, POPP’s Spay and Neuter Clinic is able to offer two high intensity spay and neuter service days, called POPP Power Days. By adding Dr. Radha Ganesan’s traveling veterinarian team to the clinic for POPP Power Days, the clinic can more than double the number of animals it sees in one day.

For January, the POPP Power Days took place on the 28th and the 29th. On Wednesday, the 28th, the clinic saw 65 animals. On Thursday, the 29th, the clinic saw 66 animals. That means the clinic spayed and neutered 131 cats and dogs in just two days! That’s 131 animals that will not be having unwanted litters.

During POPP Power Days, the clinic sees a mix of individuals’ pets, pets soon to be available for adoption in POPP’s foster program, pets from different rescues, strays caught by good Samaritans, and feral cats in a trap-and-release program. This month, the rescues that brought animals to the clinic included Pronto Puppy Rescue, Frolicking Fur Rescue, AFRS –Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant County, Adams County Pet Rescue, Silver Cloud Sanctuary, LAFP – Life Advocates for Pets of Grant County, Prosser Friends of Ferals, and Fuzzball Animal Rescue.
